THREE men pretended to be police to force their way into a woman’s house.

Detectives investigating the incident in Mossley are appealing for help to trace the trio, who it is believed were looking for a cannabis farm - later discovered by police in a house nearby.

The men approached the woman, in her 20s, as she was leaving her home in Egmont Street last Friday evening. They pretended to be police officers, grabbed her and took her back inside while they searched the house - but the victim managed to run to her car, drive off and call police.

One of the men is white, around 30, 5ft 8in, of medium build and with short fair hair. He was wearing a black jacket and dark tracksuit bottoms.

The second man is white, aged 30-35, about 5ft 8in, slim build, has dark eyes and eyebrows, pointed features and an unshaven face. He was wearing a black ribbed, plain beanie hat and a faded black hooded jumper with drawstrings and front pockets.

The third man is white, around 25, about 5ft 7in, medium build and has short fair hair, a round face, prominent ears, a small nose and a heavy jaw. He was wearing a black round-necked jumper and a dark hooded jacket.

They are believed to have been driving a silver car.

Police later arrested a man in his thirties in connection with the cannabis farm discovery.
