Date published: 11 April 2014
EMERGENCY crews were called to deal with a gas leak after a car hit the side of a house and broke a gas pipe.
Fire crews from Oldham and Chadderton were called to house on Plato Street, Chadderton, at 10pm yesterday.
Gas engineers were called to cap the pipe and make repairs.
A Fire Service spokesman said: “Police were also there investigating what had happened.
“We believe there were four passengers in the car who all scampered away from the scene, though the car didn’t appear to have been stolen.”
Noone was in the house at the time of the crash.
