£250,000 funding to speed up adoption
Date published: 02 July 2014
OLDHAM has been given £250,127 to speed up adoption in the borough.
Oldham Council cabinet has accepted the central government money as part of reforms aimed at finding families for children waiting for adoption.
This year Oldham placed its highest number of children in 10 years and recruited the highest number of adopters in the same period.
The extra money will allow the council to employ two extra social workers, fund additional training and help to cover cost increases.
