Ryan Chipchase has a 100% attendance record.
MOST children come up with various excuses to avoid going to school in the morning.
But not Ryan Chipchase. The Year 6 pupil at St Mary’s School, in High Crompton, has a 100 per cent attendance record since he started in reception class — a first in the school’s history.
Head teacher Pamela Hartley said: “It’s an absolutely incredible achievement to have come to school every day for seven years.
“He’s a delightful pupil in every way.”
Ryan (11) said he has been ill but not too sick for school.
For his achievement, he received a certificate and a book token.
He said: “My parents are really proud of me and say it would be great if I did it all the way through senior school.”
His favourite subject is maths, because “there’s only one answer and it’s either right or wrong.”
