School report praise
Date published: 25 July 2014
LITTLEMOOR Primary School has rounded off the academic year on a high after being rated as “good” (grade 2) across the board by Ofsted.
Inspectors found that standards reached by pupils had risen significantly due to improvements in teaching — and that the school was set to move forward rapidly.
Year 6 pupils who left in 2013 reached standards which were well above average in writing and maths, and significantly above average in reading.
The education watchdog said that pupils eligible for free school meals did better than others in the three subjects and that the brightest pupils made excellent progress in reading.
Teaching was generally good, expectations of what pupils could achieve were high and the school was rigorous in tracking their progress.
Attendance had also risen to above average.
