Home so close to top mark
Date published: 29 July 2014
A WATERHEAD care home was found to be meeting all but one of the standards set out by the Care Quality Commission in a recent unannounced inspection.
Springfields House, in Waterworks Road, was praised by inspectors for providing high levels of care and welfare to residents as well as offering support to staff.
The report highlighted that residents and their visitors felt the home was safe, reporting positive experiences and stating that the staff were “caring” and “knew how to handle patients”.
The report added: “Observations of staff interaction with people using the service indication calm and relaxed relationships.”
However the privately-owned care home, which can accommodate for up to 24, did not meet the standards set out with regards to assessing and monitoring the quality of service provision.
The inspection identified that there was no recorded quality monitoring audits, residents meetings or satisfaction surveys.
