Star DJ wants Ibiza the fashion action

Date published: 29 July 2014

UP and coming teenage fashion designer Eric Bishyika had to miss his biggest break — the launch of his new clothing range in Ibiza — to attend his brother’s wedding.

The 18-year-old, from Hollinwood, was given a huge boost when his Something Worthy brand was been picked up by Oldham DJ Mark XTC.

Mark saw examples of Eric’s summer range on the mobile phone of PR guru Debbie Troops and immediately signed up Eric for his latest Ibiza tour.

Mark XTC said: “I can’t believe the talent in one human being. The boy has got it, these clothes are perfect for me and my Twitter is going mad with other DJs and people in the music business wanting to know what I’m wearing.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to be supporting someone from my home town and I know that after I’ve done Ibiza it’s going to be madness for the Something Worthy brand.”

Eric, a former Oasis Academy pupil who set up his business while still at the Hollins school, added: “I couldn’t believe it when I heard that Mark XTC wanted to talk to me. He’s perfect for us and getting this opportunity is something I could have only dreamed of.”

Eric has already featured in the press and on television as one of the UK’s youngest entrepreneurs starting his clothing business from a table in his school’s entrance hall when he was 13 and developing it into a website.
