Dancing dads and mums sure can rock ’n roll

TALK about parents getting in on the act!
Mums and dads of youngsters from Pure Dance Academy, in Derker, showed the young ’uns a thing or two when they performed alongside them at the North-West Freestyle and Rock and Roll Championships, at Wythenshawe Forum, recently.
The 36 and above “Daft as a Brush” team took first place at the International Dance Teachers Association championships meaning they’re through to the Nationwide Championships at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens, in November.
Their Mary Poppins chimney sweep performance swept the floor with competitors and helped round off a fantastic day of achievement for the dance school.
More than 40 dancers aged between four and 18 took part.
The under nines Razzle Dazzle, under 14s Vision and under 18s Illusion teams all took first place and will now go on to represent the region in the finals.
