SUPPORTERS turned out in force on Saturday for a concert in memory of two-year-old Jamie Heaton, who died in the 2012 Shaw gas blast.

Local bands rocked Crompton Cricket Club with guest DJs Alan Nield and Owen Sherratt, from 96.2 The Revolution, hosting proceedings.

The event raised money for the Jamie’s Something Special Fund, which hopes to raise £50,000.

Secretary Karina Goulding said: “It went really well until about 6pm when it poured down - but we moved inside and it was packed out.

The fund was set up by the toddler’s parents Kenny and Michelle and has so far raised over £30,000 to improve Bullcote Park, Heyside, where Jamie took his first steps.
