Rising numbers hit by dementia

ALMOST 2,500 people in Oldham are living with dementia, a new study has revealed.
Figures released by the Alzheimer’s Society show that 89,783 people in the North West — 29,560 of them in Greater Manchester and 2,493 in Oldham - live with dementia.
The information is part of a London School of Economics and King’s College surey for the Alzheimer’s Society, which provides the most comprehensive review of dementia in the UK to date.
The charity is urging the Government to end the artificial divide between health and social care which disadvantages people with dementia. In the North-West are living with dementia
