HUNDREDS of partygoers danced the night away in Delph as the ninth Party in the Park went off with a bang.

Live bands, dancing displays, a zumbathon and a fireworks finale ensured the 1,650 people who packed into Delph Cricket Club had a night to remember.

Bands got the crowds rocking, as did a dazzling dance display by youngsters from Mahdlo Youth Zone.

And guests were asked to join an attempt to stage the biggest outdoor zumba dance!

Delph Band closed the show with rousing renditions of “Jerusalem” and “Land of Hope and Glory”.

Organiser Phil Beckwith said: “Everyone had an absolutely fantastic night. Everything went to plan and we raised lots of money which will go towards making sure the people of Delph have an amazing winter wonderland this Christmas.

“And we have already sorted out next year’s event: the 10th Party in the Park will be on September 19 and all the tents have sold out already — that’s how much people enjoy it.”
