CROMPTON House PTFA’s Welcome Evening is on Tuesday, October 14 from 7.30pm.


All parents are welcome to attend and items for discussion will include the school’s Christmas fair. The school is closed on Friday for a staff inset day.


THE rear window of a vehicle parked in Scowcroft Lane, Shaw, on Sunday night was smashed and items stolen from inside. Police are warning residents not to leave valuables on show.



FREE anti-theft number plate screws are available free of charge from the police — while stocks last — to prevent stolen plates being used in other crimes. Simply e-mail your name, address, phone number and the make and model of your vehicle to oldhambor ough@gmp.police.uk.



POP into Crompton Library and chat with others about books, life or hear a guest speaker at Chat and Choose on Thursdays, between 9.30 and 11.30am.



AN Elvis tribute act will rock Tara Bar and Leisure, Grains Road, on Saturday, October 25, from 7.30pm to raise money for Royal Oldham Hospital League of Friends. Tickets cost £10. Call 07752-968201 to book.
