Knife victim’s fear after bar attack

Brian Shawcross: face slashed
A TERRIFIED knife victim left with a gash on his face after beng slashed by a thug is worried the “animal” responsible will never be found.
The unprovoked attack took place in 62s bar on Yorkshire Street; Brian Shawcross (41) was confronted by a group of up to eight young Asian men.
Mr Shawcross said: “I went to the toilets minding my own business and was attacked from the side with a blade. It was a nightmare.”
Mr Shawcross, who said the yobs were snorting cocaine when he walked in, added: “Will there be any justice? It’s affected me for the rest of my life. I’m so scared.”
After the attack Mr Shawcross went home and fell asleep - before realising next morning he needed medical attention.
Royal Oldham Hospital staff reported the incident to police.
