Date published: 26 February 2015
A BOXER who allegedly attacked his dad with an ornamental samurai sword on Valentine’s Day has pleaded not guilty at Oldham Magistrates’ Court.
Mark Heffron (23), is said to have gone to his father’s Horsedge Street home with a watch worth £900 for his girlfriend.
Angered after lending him £1,500, a row blew up between Mark and his father Tommy, the court heard.
Mark is claimed to have grabbed an ornamental samurai sword from the wall and thrust it at his father, catching Mr Heffron’s leg but not breaking the skin. He will stand trial at Oldham Magistrates’ Court on June 11.
