OLDHAM is set to become one of four new cycle-friendly districts of Greater Manchester following a £22million funding boost.
Cheadle Hulme, Radcliffe and Wigan will also see improvements to cycle parking and bike routes.
Transport for Greater Manchester won the money - one of the largest portions of a £114 million Department for Transport fund - to develop routes and improve conditions for cyclists over the next three years.
The programme will see over 28 miles of new or improved cycle routes created by 2018. Schools and colleges will also benefit.
