So sick of repeat confusion

A DIABETES sufferer found it was definitely not what the doctor ordered when he tried to book a repeat prescription.
Bob Marshall (65) claims a new system for ordering repeat prescriptions online from Saddleworth Medical Practice in Uppermill is confusing patients.
Concerns
Mr Marshall, of Springhead, said: “The website has introduced a new log-in system for ordering prescriptions which requires a password but they haven’t advised anybody of this change.
“I require a repeat prescription for diabetes but couldn’t order it as I hadn’t got a password.”
A spokesman for Saddleworth Medical Practice, which has more than 14,000 patients, said: “The website at www.saddleworthmedicalpractice.com. was upgraded in collaboration with the Patient Participation Group (PPG).
“The practice would like to emphasise that, to date, 2,121 patients have successfully registered for repeat prescriptions through the new site.
“We have only received one written complaint directed to our PPG, to which they responded.
“There have been only a handful of other concerns or queries, which the practice has been able to help patients with.”
Mr Marshall added: “It seems stupid to change the system and not advise the patients.
“All this, and the nearest pharmacy is only a short distance from the surgery.”
Mr Marshall, who was told to order his items over the phone the following morning, has since logged in and registered a password.
