WALKABOUT: the Rev Jean Hurlston leads Bobby on a tour of the church watched by children in the congregation and vicar the Rev Derek Palmer
BOBBY the donkey made a guest appearance at Oldham Parish Church’s Palm Sunday procession yesterday.
The Rev Jean Hurlston, associate priest at the church, brought Bobby from the Saddleworth Llama and Donkey Sanctuary, into church to bring the gospel reading to life.
The rain prevented Bobby from parading round the town centre but he still managed to entertain church goers marking the event. Jean said: ““It was far too wet to parade around the town but Bobby led us round the church to the delight of the congregation.”
