Date published: 01 April 2015
A MAN who fraudulently claimed over £30,000 in disability benefits was given a six-month suspended sentence by Oldham Magistrates yesterday.
John Sidlow (60), of Grange Avenue, pleaded guilty to the charges, which relate to a period between 2010-2014 when he failed to notify the Department for Work and Pensions of an improvement in his mobility that would affect his Disability Living Allowance.
Sidlow also held down a job between February 2012-March 2014, with the intention of fraudulently receiving employment support allowance.
He was also ordered to pay £330 costs
