Asthma mum in nail-choke scare

A SHOCKED mum almost choked on a FALSE NAIL stuck inside her asthma inhaler.

Alison Hall (48) used her inhaler at work after struggling to breathe - but when she breathed in, a false nail that had become stuck inside the device in her pocket flew out and she started to choke.

Alison, of Bardsley, said: “I was coughing up blood. I ran outside to try to get the attention of someone as best as I could. Luckily, a man ran over straight away with his wife and daughter and they saved me by hitting my back and dislodging the nail. They looked after me and phoned for a paramedic.”

The heroic family were Tracy and Lee Bray, from Dukinfield, where Alison works for Tameside social services, who were nearby with 11-year-old daughter Millie.

Alison said: “I’ve been to the doctor to get checked out and was told I was seriously lucky. If Tracy and Lee hadn’t been there it could have been a different story. I can’t thank them enough”

Tracy and Lee said: “We are so glad to know that we were able to help. We’re happy she’s made a full recovery.”
