Health body scoops award

HEALTH chiefs at Oldham Clinical Commissioning Group are celebrating a prestigious national award.
The body, responsible for spending Oldham’s health budget, was awarded the NHS Board/Governing Body of the Year award at the National NHS Leadership Recognition Awards.
The award recognises leadership across England’s healthcare system and was presented to vice-chariman Graham Foulkes and Kath Wynne-Jones, director of performance and delivery at Oldham CCG, at Senate House in London.
Oldham CCG chairman Majid Hussain said: “We are humbled by this award, particularly as we were up against the very best nationally.:
The health body, set up in 2013 as part of the reorganisation of the NHS, was praised for its innovative and imaginative solutions to health problems and for careful management of NHS resources.
