OLDHAM Police are investigating arson attacks on a mill and two cars last night.
A black Mini Cooper in Windsor Road, Coppice had its engine compartment destroyed. CCTV footage captured by the owner showed two youths running away at around 4am today. A bottle filled with petrol was also found next to the car.
The second car — a Vauxhall Zafira — and a nearby skip were set alight at the rear of Henshaw Street, Oldham at around 9pm yesterday. The car was destroyed.
Firefighters from Chadderton managed to contain a fire at Vine Mill, Royton. An alarm at midnight sounded after a ground-floor window had been smashed. Liquid was thrown in, but the fire didn’t develop.
Police are appealing for witnesses to call the non-emergency 101 number.
