MANCHESTER United legends Paul Scholes and former team mates Gary and Phil Neville are showing their support for netball aces Manchester Thunder.

The former Reds aces have joined “Coronation Street” stars and fellow footballers in an “Amarillo” style video to promote the team’s Superleague semi-final at Manchester Arena, tomorrow.

Scholes and the Neville brothers — whose sister is Manchester Thunder’s coach — star in the sketch, a nod to Peter Kay’s 2005 Comic Relief number one charity single.

They are joined by current England footballers Toni Duggan (Manchester City) and Chelsea’s Eniola Aluko and their international team-mates, as well as “Coronation Street” actors Brooke Vincent, Hayley Tamaddon and Katy Cavanagh.

Brooke Vincent, who plays Sophie Webster in “Coronation Street”, said: “I am so proud of the Thunder girls.

“This is massive for them and for netball and they are finally getting the recognition they deserve.

“This is not just great for netball but for women’s sport, too. When you are that good it will be so nice to have all those people cheering you on. It’s a great fun family event.”

Manchester Thunder’s opponents for the semi-final will be Hertfordshire Mavericks.
