Man is blinded by brick thugs

POLICE are hunting for yobs threw a brick at a householder and took his sight in one eye.
The 66-year-old man was injured at his home in Keswick Avenue, Oldham in the early hours of April 18.
The brick injured his forehead and damaged his left eye so seriously he lost his sight.
Police are now appealing to anyone who has information to come forward.
The man and his wife were in the front room of the house when something was thrown at the door and broke the glass. As he went to investigate another brick hit him in the face. The attackers ran off.
Det-Con Gareth Gwilliam said: “There appears to be no motive for the attack. As a result of their reckless actions, this man has been left with a permanent disability.
“Understandably he’s a mixture of angry and devastated. We need to establish who was responsible.
