OLDHAM’S stunning student nurse Jodi Eyre has been crowned Miss Manchester 2015 at a glittering Hollywood-themed final.

Jodi (22), from Shaw, says she still can’t believe it: “I’m so overwhelmed, it still hasn’t sunk in,” said the former Royton and Crompton School pupil, now in the final year of a nursing degree at Manchester Metropolitan University.

“My aim was to be in the final 10 as it was a tough competition, but you can imagine how I felt when they said I’d won. I’m still thinking it’s not real and I’m going to wake up soon.”

Celebrity judges including Atomic Kitten’s Kerry Katona, “Coronation Street” star Kym Marsh, “Hollyoaks” actress Jorgie Porter and former “X Factor” winner Shayne Ward chose her for the title, which gives her automatic entry in the Miss England competition in July.

Jodi’s mum Angie Radcliffe and dad Steve Eyre were there to watch their daughter beat 34 contestants from across Greater Manchester to the title - including Bethany Allt and Codie Walker, from Chadderton and Ellie Darlington from Shaw.

“They’re really proud of me,” added Jodi. “Winning Miss England would be an absolute dream come true and I’m going to put my all into preparing for that,” said Jodi.

Jodi wasn’t the only Oldham girl to walk away with a title. Bethany Allt (18), from Chadderton, was crowned “Miss Fashionista” for her gorgeous red evening gown and an “eco-outfit” featuring recycled clothes.
