Elderly woman mugged outside home

AN elderly woman was robbed outside her home in broad daylight.
The 82 year old was about to go into the house, in Stanley Road, Chadderton at lunchtime on Monday when a man approached from behind, searched her pockets and stole her purse.
The robber is described as white, 5ft 9in and in his late teens or early 20s. He has dark eyes, a long nose and is clean shaven. He wore a black waterproof jacket and waterproof trousers with a white stripe on the side.
A police spokesman said: “Someone may have either witnessed the crime or saw him leave the scene. Anyone with any information should contact us.”
