“Phil commenced his consultant career at the Royal Oldham Hospital in July 1999.

“He has been a dedicated member of the gastroenterology team and former clinical director.

“News of his sudden death came as a great shock to the trust and particularly for all of the staff that Phil has worked with and known over his many years’ service.

“He will be missed greatly by all of his friends and colleagues. Our thoughts and condolences are with his wife and family.”
