Dovestone baby clothes mystery
Date published: 02 June 2015
POLICE are appealing for information after baby clothes were found at Saddleworth’s Dovestone reservoir
Officers are looking for two men who were acting suspiciously in the early hours of Sunday. Earlier that evening, the men were seen in a silver Toyota close to the reservoir boathouse and overheard discussing “dumping” something in the water. Police later found baby clothes in the water, but an underwater search found nothing.
Det Insp Lewis Hughes said: “Though nothing was found underwater, we did discover items of baby clothing, which is a concern. I’d ask the two men - described as Asian - to contact us as soon as possible so we know no one has come to harm and to say what has been discarded.
“Anyone else who may have seen two men in a silver Toyota with a partial registration of BF04 at on Saturday night to call us as soon as possible.”
