Summer Show’s a Saddleworth stunner

Date published: 26 June 2015

FROM kung fu to falconry and brass bands to duck racing...there’s something for everyone at this year’s Saddleworth Show.

This year’s event is at Well-i-hole Farm in Greenfield on June 28 and runs in association with the Rotary clubs of Oldham and Saddleworth. Organisers have vowed to go back to the event’s roots as a country fair.

Show chairman Steve Hughes, of the Oldham Metro Club, said: “The plan is to have acts, attractions and activities for children and families, which build on the country fair theme. It will, as ever, be a great afternoon out for all the family.”

Staff from Cockfields Farm will provide a petting zoo, while musical youngsters from Dobcross Youth Band and Saddleworth and Oldham Rock Choir will accompany the popular duck race on the River Tame.

Other attractions include carving with chainsaws, archery, Chinese kickboxing, fly fishing, a Ferris wheel, a classic car show, dog training and a climbing wall.

There will be dancing displays as well as craft, charity and food stalls.
