WERNETH Golf Club hosts a special charity day for Macmillan tomorrow at the Green Lane course.
There will be charity stalls from noon, a silent auction, a putting competition and a chance for youngsters to try the game. Chronicle managing editor David Whaley and three golf friends will be attempting to play 72 holes in a day at the Garden Suburb venue as part of the Macmillan Longest Day Golf Challenge.
The event is a thank-you to all who supported him during his year-long “Keep Smiling” throat cancer battle. You can donate at www.justgiving.com/4 Amigos-KeepSmiling.
