One in a Minion

A CREATIVE Limeside man has used old tyres to fashion a gift for his Minion-crazy wife.

Pete Leicester’s other half, Gill, has become a huge fan of the yellow characters from “Despicable Me”.

So using old tyres, empty plastic bottles and spray paint, 48-year-old Pete created two unique Minion plant pots.

His creation quickly got an internet boost and pictured were shared more than 30,000 shares online.

Father-of-three Pete, who works at Tesco in Failsworth, said: “I just wanted to do something a bit fun with them, nothing more than that, and it’s just taken off.

“I finished them in about an hour and it only cost me £3 because I got the tyres free. Gill loves them because they add colour and fun to our garden. Our neighbours have seven children and they love them.

“They’ve asked me to make one of the evil purple Minions now too.”

Gill (44), a karate instructor, is delighted with her hubby’s handiwork: “I absolutely love them,” she said.

“He’s had so many compliments and requests from people asking for his advice on how to make them.”
