TWO Oldham parks have proved their horticultural credentials by retaining their “Green Flag” status.
Alexandra Park and Shaw’s Dunwood Park are among 239 across the region to achieve the accolade from Keep Britain Tidy.
The awards are judged by more than 700 volunteers who visit sites and assess them against eight strict criteria.
Awards were handed out to all the region’s winners at a ceremony at the Queen Elizabeth Hall.
Councillor Barbara Brownridge said: “It’s great news that Alexandra Park and Dunwood Park have successfully retained their Green Flag status. I’d like to congratulate the council staff and volunteers who have done a fantastic job in making our borough blooming beautiful.”
