DRIVEWAY you can’t drive in: Somuz Ali and his narrow passageway
A CHADDERTON father has been left bemused by his “pointless” driveway - so narrow he can’t get out of his car if he parks on it!
Somuz Ali (37) moved into his new home in Glenby Way, Chadderton last December and realised the flaw when he first parked.
“It basically makes the driveway pointless,” he said. “The driveway was one of the most attractive features of the property before I moved in. I can’t tell you how baffled I was when I discovered I couldn’t get out of my car.”
The houses were built by the Oldham Inspiral consortium - Great Places Housing Group, John Laing construction and Wates Living Space.
Mr Ali lives at the home with his wife and five children - one of whom, 18-year-old Fahima, is blind. Being able to park on the drive would make her life a little easier
A spokesman for Inspiral said: “We’re working with Oldham Council to resolve this matter as soon as possible.”
