COMMUNITY stalwart and popular teacher Steve Hill has been presented with a prestigious award.
The St Joseph’s Primary School deputy head teacher — well-known for his fundraising feats — received the Paul Harris Fellowship award from the Rotary Club of Oldham Metro.
The honour is named after the founder of the Rotary movement from Chicago. Rotarian Michelle Greenwood, who attended the presentation at Crompton and Royton Golf Club, said: “This is such a prestigious award and we don’t just give them away!
“We looked at people in the community who make a difference and we believe that Steve Hill puts in so much more time with children outside of his day to day job at St Joseph’s and he has raised so much money for charity.
“We also love the ethos he teaches the children — that they can achieve anything if they work hard enough.”
