THIS is the dramatic moment that a large tree fell on to Broadway in Chadderton and caused misery for drivers.
Gusts of up to 80mph and torrential rain battered the borough yesterday, uprooting a large tree in Chadderton close to the Middleton Road junction. Tree surgeons removed the tree, clearing the road shortly before 4pm.
Emergency services dealt with several incidents across Greater Manchester as the weather caused havoc.
At the height of the chaos, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service had scrambled every available engine to more than 100 severe weather-related incidents.
