FOR almost nine months Paul and Georgina McGrady were counting down the days to Christmas — as they hoped they’d be getting an extra special present: their first child.
The Chadderton couple got their wish and at 12.01pm baby Scarlett was born at the Royal Oldham Hospital, weighing 6lb 7oz.
Paul (39) said: “We are absolutely over the moon, she’s perfect. Both Scarlett and Georgina are doing great. Everybody kept telling us that babies are never born on their due date and not to expect her on Christmas Day, but that’s exactly what happened. It’s a great Christmas present.”
Scarlett has already visited family members, including Georgina’s 86-year-old grandmother.
He added: “The hospital and all the staff were great. I’d like to thank them.”
