Saddleworth Morris Men on their annual Christmas tour at The Wellington, in Greenfield
SADDLEWORTH Morris Men rounded off the year with a pub tour, performing a dancing finale in each one.
They danced the “Lordsmere Longsword” in seven Saddleworth pubs, including the Wellington in Greenfield.
The dance involves removing their trademark waistcoats, sashes and bells before performing a circle dance with interlocking swords. Traditionally the youngest member of the troupe leads the tour as the “captain” and this year Jack Williams (26), took on the role.
