Call girl stole wallet of 71-year-old customer

AN Oldham call girl stole a pensioner’s wallet containing £250 after persuading him to pay her for having sex.

Gemma Andrews (31) tricked her way into his home by asking if he would make her a brew after chatting to him on nearby Ashton Road. Once inside she offered him her personal services for £40. No money changed hands, but when he afterwards briefly left the room, she ran off with the wallet.

Later the same day she returned to demand the £40 she said she was owed.

Manchester Crown Court was told that less than two months later, sex worker Andrews, of Falmouth Street, Oldham, pushed her way into a 52-year old man’s flat and stole his wallet containing £30 and his bank cards. She was later arrested after being identified from DNA on a glass.

The court was told Andrews had a history of offending to get cash to feed her heroin and crack cocaine habit.

Judge Mushtaq Khokhar said she deserved immediate prison, but he was giving her a last chance to turn her life round by imposing a community order: “If you do not comply you will be brought back here and it will be custody - for a long time.”

Steven Sullivan, defending, said his client had had a difficult life, suffered learning difficulties and poor mental health.

Andrews was given a 12 month community order with a rehabilitation requirement, and made subject to a three month nightly curfew by electronic tagging.

She pleaded guilty to both counts of theft and the court was told she had already served the equivalent of a five month prison sentence while in custody.
