TWO employees had a special reason to join in the 35th anniversary celebrations of Town Square shopping centre.
Suzanne Kershaw - a pharmacist technician at Boots - and Eric Roye, a cleaner, have worked at the centre from the start.
Suzanne (52), from Saddleworth, said: “I can’t believe it’s been 35 years. I’ve seen a lot of changes over the years but I think the town centre is improving again and getting busier.”
Eric (57), from Oldham, added: “I’ve got a lot of great memories here. I’ve seen a lot of people come and go but it has been a brilliant 35 years.”
The long-serving pair were each presented with a gift and a certificate by centre manager Mike Flanagan before helping to cut the birthday cake.
Mike said: “It is great to be able to celebrate 35 years of Town Square, especially to be able to mark the occasion with Suzanne and Eric.
“There have obviously been so many changes over the years but the centre continues to evolve with the times, offering a great variety of stores.”
