HE’S chopped, boiled and steamed with the best of them.

Now reigning “MasterChef” champion Simon Wood is lined up on the shelves alongside his food heroes as his debut cookbook, launched today.

The book showcases Simon’s unique approach to fine dining at home and shares his tips, tricks and signature recipes to take home cooking to the next level.

It contains a host of delicious dishes such as his signature wild mushroom ravioli with sage butter and his “MasterChef” calling card, chicken and chorizo tortellini.

He gives invaluable tips on maximising flavours and textures as shows how to present food to perfection.

“I think presentation is such an important side of cooking,” he says. “It instantly tells the diner the dish is good and that you have put thought and effort into what you have produced for them.”

From a day job as a data manager to lifting the crown on his favourite TV cookery show, the 39-year-old father of four, from Chadderton, has risen higher than a soufflé in the last 12 months.
