A Disney dream came true for a brave Oldham teenager battling bone cancer.
Bethan Curran was given the chance to visit the Florida theme parks despite being diagnosed with osteosarcoma and having surgery and intensive chemotherapy last year.
The 17 year old even had to sit her GCSE exams at the Christie Hospital while receiving vital treatment.
Children's charity Rays of Sunshine recognised Bethan's determination and arranged for her family to travel to Florida and stay at a special “Give the Kids the World” village, which hosts children with life-threatening illnesses from around the world. Bethan spent a week enjoying the theme parks and forgeting about her illness.
Bethan said afterwards: “We made some amazing memories as a family that we will all treasure forever. I'm so grateful for what Rays of Sunshine and the Give Kids the World village did for me.
“I'm so happy and lucky to have had my wish granted and had an experience I will never forget.”
