Care worker charged with neglect

A SHAW woman has been charged with neglecting or mistreating people in her care at a Middleton care home.
Victoria Johnson (23) has been charged with four counts of a care worker ill-treating or wilfully neglecting an individual.
Police were alerted to a number of images taken by staff at Ashbourne House Nursing Home in Middleton in January.
It was alleged that vulnerable residents had been tormented by abuse of "therapy" dolls used by those with dementia.
Officers began investigating after the images were reported on January 22.
Ms Johnson, of Cowlishaw Lane, has been bailed and is due to appear at Bury and Rochdale Magistrates' Court on Friday, July 1.
Earlier this month, Shauna Higgin (19), of Eliot Walk, Middleton, was charged with four counts of ill-treating or wilfully neglecting an individual as a care worker and bailed to appear at Bury and Rochdale Magistrates' court on July 1.
