RESIDENT Joanne Craddock asked what the council is doing to combat fly-tipping.
Councillor Barbara Brownridge said that last year 867 fixed penalty notices and 122 prosecutions were served.
The council is looking into the possibility of using cameras in popular fly-tipping areas and Councillor Brownridge stressed that everyone must work together to stop it.
Other issues raised were the store cages behind Tesco Express in Shaw which have become an attraction for anti-social behaviour.
Councillor Fida Hussain said he will ask officers to work with Tesco to tackle the problem and find a solution for all.
Meanwhile, Councillor Yasmin Toor raised concerns about trees and vegetation that are blocking road signs in the area, highlighting Ashton Road as a particular hotspot for the troublesome overgrowth.
Councillor Hussain said an inspection of road signs within the area and on Ashton Road would take place soon and appropriate action would be taken.
