A LAWYER is aiming to raise money for charity in a gruelling cycle race around the Olympic time trial route in London.

Michael Pitt, partner at Oldham firm Pearson Solicitors and Financial Advisers, has been in serious training for Sunday's Ride London100 challenge in aid of the Mines Advisory Group.

The race has more than 20,000 participants, and celebrates the legacy of London 2012.

Starting at the Olympic Park, the riders will progress through London and into the Surrey countryside, tackling the famous Box Hill.

The aim is to complete the 100-mile course in a nine-hour time slot. This is the third year Mike has taken part in the event. He was first prompted to do it following the London Olympics in 2012 and emulate Sir Bradley Wiggins.

Michael said: "This is truly a deserving cause, I initially got involved with them via a cycle charity ride through France and wanted to offer my help again.

"All money raised will help to save lives and build futures in communities affected by landmines all over the world.

"Colleagues and clients have all been very supportive and I hope everyone will dig deep. If I can match what I've raised in the past I will be really pleased."
