A SHAW barber enjoyed a brush with music industry A-listers thanks to his razor sharp skills.

Danny Robinson, who owns Danny & Co Barbers, in Milnrow Road, earned an exclusive backstage pass to lop the locks of performers at last weekend's V Fest, in Chelmsford, Essex, which was headlined by the likes of Justin Bieber and Rihanna.

Danny (31), who is an exclusive member of the Men's Hairdressing Federation's artistic team singling him out as one of the country's top barber talents, took along signage and furniture to create his own pop-up shop.

But it was Danny's cutting edge expertise which caught artists' attention and he got to trim the likes of Tinie Tempah, Craig David and international DJ Wilkinson.

"There's a massive interest in barbering right now and that's what I was offering rather then just styling," Danny told us.

"I took along my chairs and neon sign to create a pop up barber shop and it really grabbed people's attention. I had tour managers coming over to ask to me to do their artist's hair including Craig David, Tinie Tempah and hip hop artist Stormzy.

"It really seemed to go down well that a professional barber was actually there cutting hair and because I do the skin fade cut which is popular right now I had a lot interest.

"It was insane really. There's me from a three-chair barbers shop in Shaw mixing with all these celebrities. It was crazy.

Star-struck snipper Danny will again be packing up his pop-up barbers and setting up shop backstage at this bank holiday weekend's Creamfields festival, in Cheshire.

There he is likely to spot DJ-ing heavyweights such as Calvin Harris, Avicii and Fat Boy Slim.

Back home in Oldham he's expanding his cut above services by opening a new outlet in Uppermill next month.
