Pensioner scares off trio amid attempted raid

A GROUP of burglars were scared off by a pensioner after sneaking into her home.
Three men walked into the back garden of her house on Trent Road in Shaw at around 9.15am on Thursday, August 11.
The occupant, a 70-year-old woman, who saw them and went out to see what they were doing and was told they were checking blocked drains, but when she returned to the house, one of the men was in the hallway.
The three men then fled the scene and have not been traced and upon checking her house she found her Ottoman foot stool in her bedroom had been pulled out, but couldn't see that anything had been stolen.
Police were called and those investigating the incident have now released CCTV footage of two men they want to speak to in connection with the incident. The men are all described as white and in their late teens or 20s.
