Summer fair for Francis House

Date published: 16 July 2009

Riverside House sheltered housing scheme in Uppermill will hold its annual summer fair on Saturday to raise money for Francis House Children’s Hospice.

The event will be opened by Councillor Alma McInnes, chairman of Saddleworth Parish Council.

Staff and residents are hoping to beat the whopping £1,300 they managed to raise last year.

Caterer John Stevenson, of Manns Wharf Catering, Greenfield, will provide cream teas and lattes.

There will be a flower stall run by Mike Greenwood, of Meadowfield Flowers. Both stalls will be donating all of their profits to the hospice.

There will be a good-as- new stall, tombola, and children’s stall.

Entry is £1.50 which includes a raffle ticket, with all proceeds going to the Hospice. The fun starts at 1.30pm.
