City dig in to secure ugly win at Clarets

MANCHESTER City's players really had to dig in for an ugly, scrappy win at Burnley, but it was a well-deserved victory.

As I said last week, Burnley are a very tough side to play against, and at times at Turf Moor the City back lads had to were so hard as they were being put under pressure.

In the end, though, it turned into a great result, and a great three points as the top four continue to set the pace in the Premier League.

The players will benefit from having no midweek game this week, ahead of what promises to be a cracking top-of-the-table clash at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday as Chelsea head to town.

I think Antonio Conte has done a brilliant job at Chelsea so far this season.

ENTHUSIASM

He is a good manager, and I love to see his enthusiasm and character on the touchline.

That has to be good for the players to see.

He's certainly not afraid to show his feelings, and that is a positive thing surely?

It's a real crunch game in prospect, and though City will go for the victory and push forward as they always do, they'll have to be very much on their guard at the back.

Chelsea have got a number of flair players in their team and they'll take some stopping.

I think Eden Hazard is the main threat for them, while there's Pedro, Costa - in fact you can rattle off a lot of big name players.

City should hold no fears, though, and I'm confident they won't.

A win against Chelsea could provide a massive blow during these early stages of the title race.
