Great team performance sees off Palace

EVERY single Manchester City player was great in the 5-0 victory over Crystal Palace.

It was a terrific team performance from the Blues, but it was reminiscent of a lot of games this season, ones where they just haven't taken their chances.

The difference against Palace was they City took those chances.

They looked immense at the back, with Vincent Kompany and Nicola Otamendi commanding, while further forward, the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Yaya Toure and David Silva were just class.

The other results went for City in the race for the top four, too.

Liverpool only drawing at home was a big bonus, while United lost as well of course.

It's looking very positive for Champions League qualification now.

So next up is a visit from Leicester this weekend.

Yes, they've had a great revival under Craig Shakespeare and a certainly a side in form, but if City play like they did against Palace then they should get the result.

City will boss the possession and create chances, so as long as they keep it tight at the back and concentrate on Jamie Vardy and his pace, then hopefully that'll be enough to gain another good result.

I enjoyed my interview with Nigel De Jong in Istanbul last week.

He really is a great guy and our City website feature marking five years since the famous Aguero goal is pretty much done now.

In fact I've just taken a call from Mario Balotelli and so I'm hoping to jet down to Nice later this week to chat to him.

After that, I only need to speak to Sergio Aguero from the team that day in 2012, so we've done well putting it all together.

I did have a nightmare journey back from Istanbul the other day, though.

We were flying back via Frankfurt, and once we got there our connecting flight to the UK was cancelled.

You can imagine what it was like in the airport when everyone found out, but at least the airline found us a hotel for the night and we eventually flew the morning after.
