More pain for Roughyeds

Bradford Bulls 47, Oldham RL 12

OLDHAM RL slipped to second bottom in the Kingstone Press Championship after a heavy defeat at Bradford Bulls, who had previously lost nine games on the spin.

Scott Naylor's side were hoping to end a run of seven straight defeats, but were no match for the West Yorkshire outfit at the Odsal Stadium.

Trailing by 21 points to nil at half-time, Oldham got on the scoreboard thanks to Sammy Gee and Dave Hewitt tries, both of which were improved.

At that stage, though, Bulls had increased their lead to 35-0.

Ethan Ryan (four), James Bentley (two), Ed Chamberlain (two) and James Mendeika went in for Bulls, with Oscar Thomas adding five goals and a drop goal.

With nearest rivals Dewsbury Rams surprising fourth-placed Toulouse 34-22 and Swinton Lions denying fifth-placed Halifax 13-12, the Roughyeds face a battle to avoid relegation.
