IN the end Manchester City can probably be happy with a point following our 1-1 home draw with Arsenal.
It was the best Gunners performance at the Etihad Stadium in a very long time, as they troubled us all afternoon with their movement and creativity.
Luckily for us, they were quite wasteful in front of goal when they did get behind our backline.
Winger Gervinho was particularly culpable in that department, spurning a pair of glorious opportunities.
All in all, 1-1 is a decent result against one of the Barclays Premier League’s form teams.
They have a good system and work ethic, and I think manager Arsene Wenger has bought very well in the summer.
The North London outfit are much more resilient and threatening than last term.
Tonight we have the chance to bounce back with a positive result against visitors Aston Villa in the Capital One Cup.
I like this competition — you are only a few wins away from Wembley and it is sometimes more of a family occasion when you get a home tie.
The ticket prices come down and we tend to get more youngsters in the stands, which can only be a good thing.
Coming so soon after the Arsenal game, we may end up resting quite a few players, but this is a very talented squad and I am sure the aim is to go for the win.
